Nail Varnish Collection: Part 2

So here's part 2 of my nail varnish collection, and although I don't have many here are my OPI ones. I've bought OPI from Ebay before and Buyapowa where they often have the mini sets. I'm not exactly sure how of the RRP of OPI but I know it's about £10+ so not cheap. The good things about OPI are that the bottles are quite big and the colours are nice but I don't really think they're worth what they are because I don't think they're anything special in my honest opinion.

Teenage Dream (Katy Perry Collection), Gold Shatter, Funky Dunkey & Who the Shrek are You? (Shrek Collection)

Nicki Minaj Collection (Minis)
Did It On 'Em, Fly, Pink Friday & Metallic 4 Life

The Muppets Collection (Minis)
Wocka Wocka!, Excuse Moi!, Designer... de Better! & Warm & Fozzie

Out of all my OPI polishes I LOVE LOVE LOVE Teenage dDeam, not just because it's from the Katy Perry Collection but I just love the glitter and the colour, I actually have 3 bottles of Teenage Dream because I didn't want to run out as it was only Limited Edition, I used to use this all the time and people used to say how nice it was on my nails, so if you can find it on ebay or somewhere you should get it because it's amazing! I have been looking for an alternative one but I haven't really found one the same.

Next up, Avon. If I'm honest I'd probably never buy Avon polishes myself but because the girl I used to work with had an Avon book she asked if I wanted anything so I had a look through and I'd heard about the Matte varnishes so I decided to buy some, I think there was an offer on where you could buy 3 and get one free or something like that so I got 2 Matte ones, A speed dry one and a nailwear pro one. The packaging is quite nice and the product in side is pretty good too, the only thing about the matte ones is that they don't last long :( they chip within hours, I don't know if it's just me or if it's the actual polish.

Grey Cement & Violetta

Wicked & Bronzess

I actually do like the Matte ones, I would pick Violetta over the Grey one anyday I just wish they would stay on my nails longer! I don't even remember trying the other two, I just bought them because one was free or a free gift haha.

I'm just going to do my random polishes now, I have a couple of Collection 2000, Revlon & other brands that I've got from Beauty Boxes.

Neeka, Orly (I don't see a name on the bottle), Oxford Circus & Razzle

093 Tropical Temptation, Milan 110 & Houses of Parliment (Magnetic)

fSex Kitten & Diamond Diva

43 Fruit Salad, 32 BMX Bandit & 28 Hip Hop

Out of all of those above I'd say the No.7 Polish is my favourite, I bought it after seeing it on Pearls and Poodles last year and I knew I had to buy it because I like pink & Glittery nail varnishes, it's not got glitter in it but it's not a plain varnish, I don't know how to describe it exactly but I love it!

That's all my nail varnishes, I hope you enjoyed reading :)

Nail Varnish Collection: Part 1

Hi everyone :)

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while, I didn't have such a great weekend as my cat had to be put to sleep, she was 15 years old and I've had her since I was about 4 or 5 years old, so it was pretty sad and since then I haven't felt like doing very much but I have a Nail Varnish Collection post for you today, I wouldn't say I have loads of nail varnish but I do have more than I probably need haha.

So, lets get started. Below are all my nail varnishes together, they're in a plastic tray because I store them in little storage drawers which I bought from Wilkinsons last year.

I'll start with Models Own. I have 10 polishes from Models Own and I want more! I love them, the packaging is simple but not tacky and the actual polish dries really fast! the only thing I'm not too keen on is the price tag, they're only £5 so it's not like they're expensive but if you're buying more than one they quickly add up however Models Own always have a buy 3 save £3/Buy 5 save £7 offer on their website so I normally buy mine there. They're also available from Boots stores.

Dusty Mauve, Purple Grey, Peach Sherbet & Coral Reef

Juicy Jules, Champagne, Pink Blush & Lili's Pink

Grace Green & Nude Beige

Out of all my Models Own polishes I would say my favourite is Nude Beige as it's just a nice simple colour and its not too in your face so it's prefect for everyday wear.

Next up, Barry M. Barry M nail varnishes are available from Superdrug and Boots and online, I normally buy Barry M in Superdrug or Boots so I can't say if they do offers online or not. Barry M once again, the packaging is alright, not my personal favourite but I guess it's the product inside that people care about more and Barry M varnishes are great, they dry nicely and they do a good range of colours.

319 Silver Foil, 320 Gold Foil, 272 Shocking Pink, 309 Strawberry Ice Cream & 279 Bright Pink

295 Pure Turquoise, 307 Lemon Ice Cream, 293 Grey & 311 Nail Effects Black

262 Bright Red, 273 Raspberry, 304 Mint Green, 308 Berry Ice Cream & 312 Indigo

Out of all my Barry M polishes I like Raspberry and Berry Ice Cream the most :) Most Barry M nail varnishes are priced at £2.99 which is really good as they're a great brand. They've recently just bought out their own Magnetic Nail varnish too which is about £3.99-£4.99 all depending on where you're buying from.

ELF (Eyes Lips Face) is up next, I discovered ELF quite a few years ago actually when I was still at school and had little money, everything on the basic range is £1.50 and this is where the nail varnishes come in... they're only £1.50 and you'd think they'd be bad quality but they're actually pretty good! they're not the fastest drying and sometimes the swatches online aren't that great but at the end of the day they only cost £1.50 each which compared to Models Own is really good. You can only buy ELF products online in the UK but if you become a Fan of them on facebook they often have good offers on like free delivery and 20% off etc.

Lilac, Innocent, Champagne & Mod Mauve

Fire Coral, Passion Pink, Mattefinisher, Smoky Brown (for some reason this one has bits of orange in it :S)

PS. I also have an ELF polish in 'Nude' but my mum had it in her room so I forgot all about it.
Out of my ELF polishes I quite like Fire Coral and Innocent.

Up next is my Rimmel Colletion, when I was younger and had pocket money ;) I used to buy Rimmel nail varnishes and ONLY Rimmel... I don't know why but I never bought any other brand other than Rimmel. I guess I liked their colour range and the packagining. Rimmel is available in Superdrug, Boots, selected Tesco, Sainsburys and Adsa's and I've even seen them in Wilko before!

198 Azure, 825 Sky High, 045 Misty Jade & 236 Green Grass

270 Hot Shot, 021 Magenta Magic, 420 Sunrise & 055 Sunshine

610 Pompous, 193 Black Cherries, 275 Electric! & 291 Urban Princess

080 Black Cab, 325 Hot Gossip, 085 London Clouds

I probably had more than this but as you know Nail Varnishes do dry up after a while. I can't really pick a favourite out of these, as I said I like their colour range so most of them are colours I would wear a lot. I like Electric, Black Cherries, Pompous, Magenta Magic & Sunrise the most though :)

So, as I have a few more to do I've decided to do this post in two parts. I'll probably post the next part tomorrow. I hope you've enjoyed reading, tell me your favourite brands in the comments or what your favourite colour is :)

That Topshop Dress...

I bought it...

I ordered the two dresses I showed you in my previous post about the Topshop dress I wanted to get. I tried them both on at the weekend and I loved them both but the one with the bit around the waist (which my Nan told me was called a 'Peplum' - this explains why I have been seeing this word around quite a bit!) had a little snag in the shoulder and the zip was really difficult to do up so I decided to send that one back and keep the skater one below.

I bought both dresses in a size 10 as I think Topshop dresses are made to fit well and they fit me fine. I think I mentioned before how I like the sizing of Topshop dresses because If I went to H&M, New Look etc I'm sure I'd probably come out with all different sizes as I find different shops are always different which does annoy me but hey ho.

I thought it was white but on Topshops website it says it's Cream. This is the dress I'll be wearing to my mum's wedding, hopefully people won't ask me why I'm wearing White! I may have to put a sign on my back saying 'IT'S CREAM!' haha

I just thought i'd do a quick post to let you all know I bought it and It's a really nice dress, so hopefully on my mum's wedding day it won't be too cold or raining! I think I'll probably wear some nude heels or maybe be a bit daring and wear some bright ones - I don't know yet :)

Thanks for reading & I hope everyone had a nice Easter

Caviar Nails

Hi everyone :)

Today's post is about the new Caviar nails! I've decided to do my own version and show you how to do it too.

I recently watched a video on youtube of Fleur De Force doing the Ciate Caviar nails, I was quite interested but when she said they were going to cost about £18 I thought no way... so I had a look on ebay for some craft beads and I found this seller, I bought the Pink, Purple and Silver beads as the multicoloured ones were out of stock, anyway, they arrived today and they were a lot smaller than I expected they would be but looking at them now they're probably about right.

I'm going to show you/tell you as best as I can how to create your own Caviar Nails below :)

So, Step 1:

Prepare! make sure you have your beads ready in a little container, the nail varnish of choice, a top/clear coat and something that you'll be able to catch the beads in once you've put them onto your nails. I've picked Models Own 'Pink Blush' (Models own is a very nice brand, it dries quick and the colours are so lovely!) and an unbranded clear polish. I'm also using the Glossybox Harrod's edition lid to catch my beads in ;)

Step 2:

Paint all your nails  with your chosen colour as you usually would and leave to dry. It doesn't matter if they're not perfectly painted as the beads cover up 99% of your nails when they're applied anyway.

Step 3 & 4:

For example, I started with my left hand and my pinky finger, You need to apply a second coat of nail polish to that one finger then place your hand, in my case the Glossybox lid, then tip the beads from your container over that nail. Once the nail is covered brush off any beads stuck to your hand or the edges of your nails then press lightly on the beads so they stick to your nail. Repeat this for every other nail, one at a time!

Step 5:

Once all nails are covered and lightly pressed you need to take your top coat or clear varnish and go around the edges and tips of your nails to keep the beads in place better. If you wanted to you could apply a top coat all over but I think it may ruin the effect.

Step 6:

Leave to dry for at least 15 minutes, don't try and move anything or do anything because your beads will probably just come off. It does feel weird at first and like you won't be able to do anything once the beads are on your nails but you should be able to continue as normal once they're all dried and set into place. Now you can just admire your handy work and when people question you about your new nails you can proudly say you done them yourself :D

I have only just tried these today and if I'm honest they're fairly easy to do, just make sure you have plenty of time on your hands and patience because it can be a little fiddly but I would say they're not at all hard to acheive.

I do however think this will just be a phase, like the crackle polishes but in my opinion I quite like this effect but I doubt i'd re-do this every week as it does take a bit of time. As I've only just applied them today I can't let you know yet how long they will last roughly but I'd say a couple of days if you don't do anything rough with your hands/nails.

Thank you for reading & I hope you enjoyed, if you have any questions or if there's anything I've missed out please comment below.

Quick Update

Hiya,

Just a quick update to let you know I will be continuing with my blog at some point this week. Last week I stayed at my dads all week so I didn't really have much to blog about or anything much to say but hopefully when I get home (which will be tomorrow afternoon) I'll be able to do a couple of posts! I have one or two in mind so keep your eyes peeled ;)

Thanks <3

Topshop & Dorothy Perkins

Just a quick post today (I'm sure I think this a lot then end up writing a whole page haha)

I went 'shopping' with my mum today because I wanted to try on some dresses I'd seen in Topshop and one was a possible wedding outfit for when she gets married.

I looked around the store and couldn't find the dress I wanted to try (below)

Picture from Topshop - It may be quite hard to see as it's white on a white background

but they did have this one (below)

Picture from Topshop - It may be quite hard to see as it's white on a white background
which was actually really nice and my mum said she liked this one! So, if I can't find the other one or don't like it I may just have to get the one with the 'bit' around the waist as it looked quite elegant. I love Topshop dresses as I find they're a really good quality and a really nice fit.

Also, I wanted to try on a leopard print skater dress I'd seen online and in another store. I really like their skater dresses because they're great if you want to hide a bit of belly, because I don't have the flattest tum in the world and I just like the way they 'flow' although I don't like them too long, I'm only 5'2" so I feel like long dresses can make me look even smaller.

I tried the Leopard print one and... I must shamefully say yes, I did buy it *naughty me* I've been trying so hard to resist spending any money but you can never have enough clothes and it was a treat to myself for being so good for not spending money on things I didn't need up until that point :)

You can buy this dress here. I paid £36 for it which for a Topshop dress I was happy to pay as normally they're over £40 like the two above they're around £48 I believe and I've paid £46 for a plain black skater dress from Topshop before - crazy I know.

I got a size 10 because as I said my belly isn't the flattest and I believe that Topshop dresses do come up a bit bigger on me anyway. Also, I have biggish boobies ;) (not bragging lolz) and I like to make sure they can fit into the dress without it stretching and I find that a size 10 fits me perfectly.

So, yeah that was my Topshop purchase & as you can see by the post title you may have guessed I bought something from Dorothy Perkins, so I'll now show you that.

On Thursday me, my mum and my boyfriends mum went 'shopping' to look at dresses for the wedding and I was in a BHS and they had a Dorothy Perkins section and this blouse caught my eye and I knew I had to have it but being the good girl that I am I didn't bring my card with me as I had no intention to spend any money.
However, when I got home I kept complaining to my mum how much I liked this blouse and she told me to buy it otherwise I'd regret it so... online I went and put the blouse in my basket, I also put another one in but in a different colour and then went to pay BUT I hate paying for shipping/postage and packaging and it was £4 so in total my basket had come to £58 and I was like NOOOOO! So I cancelled and didn't bother but then I was sulking haha so I made my mum do it for me so I couldn't look and be all like hmm arrgh!

Anyhow, the blouses arrived yesterday. Yay

You can find the blouses on the Dorothy Perkins website here & here. On the hangers in the shop they looked lovely but it was a different story when I tried them on. The Aqua one is fine, I don't mind it and I'll be keeping it but the Blush/Pinky Peach one just doesn't look right on me so i'll be sending it back because they cost £27 each and there's no point keeping it if I'm not going to wear it.

I got size 12s in these as I find with button up blouses/shirts the gaps between the buttons where my boobs are always come apart and you can see between so yeah, not cool, I don't want them on show! haha

I know I said this would be a quick one but... I guess it wasn't really that quick was it? oops
I hope you enjoyed reading & Thank you if you did

Fake Tan: Lauren's Way

Hiya :)

As I've mentioned before I am quite pale so I thought I'd write up a post about Fake Tan! some people love it, others hate it but I'm in the middle. I've tried different tans before as it's nearly impossible for me to get a proper sun tan these days!

The Sun hates me...

I've had a few failures before, like the Johnsons gradual tan... that made me orange and at the time I was a bit younger and thought it looked fantastic! but, I was totally wrong.

Also, alot of people rave about St Moriz and it was ok for me but not amazing! I've tried it a few times but I just think my skin hates it for some reason.

I've also tried more expensive brands like 'Make Believe' which you can get from Boots at the time I bought it, a few years back, it was more around the £30 mark which was expensive for me as I was still in school, I also bought the srub that goes with it and I probably still have it lurking around somewhere! haha This tan was alright, It was probably the nicest tan I've ever smelt, It was sort of like bananna's and other fruity smells but it wasn't the most natural colour and it was clear when applying so you could easily miss parts of your body as there was no guide colour.

I've tried the Xen Tan samples from the Feel Unique boxes but I didn't really try them properly, with such a small sample I'm scared that I'll use most of it on one part of my body then not have enough for the rest haha. I do want to try the Xen Tan Dark Lotion though as I've heard many good things about it.

I've never tried St Tropez but I've heard it's quite good and that St Moriz is basically the cheaper version so I have no desire to try St Tropez really.

Currently I am using a Tan made by 'Lauren's Way'. This brand comes from Lauren Goodger of The Only Way is Essex fame. Firstly, I had heard so many good things about this tan from reading blogs and watching youtube videos (I normally look around before actually parting with my money) I decided to go for the Lotion as the mousse was more expensive at the time and I had St Moriz in mousse form so wanted to try something different. You can buy the Lotion here for £15.95 or the mousse here for £17.95.

Image from Google

So, I waited for it to be delivered and as soon as I got it I think I literally tried it. So, I did all the things I needed to like Exfoliate, Moisturise etc etc. I applied the tan with a mitt and it smelt quite nice and went on with a guide colour, it dried quickly and I put some loose clothing on and went to bed.

Lauren's Way Tanning Lotion - Image from Google
I woke up in the morning and it was a nice natural golden brown colour but it had gone all weird and patchy (Not the Tan's fault) in some places and this dissapointed me a bit, I seem to get this problem alot, I don't know if it's my skin being a pain or if it's the moisturiser I use but anyway, It wasn't that noticable so I carried on using that for a while until 'Glam Tan' arrived, you can buy this here for £18.95

Now, Glam Tan is a spray sort of tan, you spray it onto the mitt and then just apply it like you would a normal tan. It isn't a 'Spray Tan' that you can just spray on to your body in a mist. At the time I purchased the Glam Tan it came with a Mitt but I checked the website yesterday and now you have to buy the Mitts separatley but they only cost £3.99, which is probably about average for a Tanning Mitt and they're actually really good.

Lauren's Way Glam Tan - Image from Google

When I first tried this I was instantly surprised and this became my favourite tan within minutes. Normally, my legs don't tan too well or my belly but with this tan I was amazed at the results. As normal, you let your tan develop over night then wash off in the morning. So, I did this and the tan faded to a more natural colour and honestly it still looked great.

I still use this tan and I find if I apply it one night, wash it off the next morning then reapply some more that night then wash off the next morning it gives you such a nice golden colour and I love it!!!

I would recommend this to everyone! it's easy to use and it gives such a nice colour. It lasts for ages as well but the only problem with that is it starts to go patchy and no matter how much you scrub/exfoliate it is really tough to get off! BUT I don't mind that because It's just such a great tan and I can put up with it haha.

Thank you for reading, Vicky x

P.S. Does anyone know how to set up the reply to comments bit? I can't properly reply to any comments I get, I can only post a comment like anyone else.
